What type and size of display screen should I select ?
Answer = The display screen maybe the most important feature that determines your satisfaction with the Fishfinder. When selecting a Fishfinder the display screen should have excellent screen resolution and must have good visability in all lighting conditions. A monochrome LCD screen will be easiest to read in direct sunlight; color LCD screens must be choosen with care, many can be difficult to view in direct sunlight.
What is the difference between single frequency and dual frequency Fishfinders ?
Answer = Dual frequency means the Fishfinder transponder sends out both a 50 KHz and a 200 KHz sonar signal. Single frequency means only a 200 KHz signal is sent out. When fishing in salt water or deep water a dual frequency unit will work best. If you are fishing in fresh water or in depths of less than 200 feet, a single frequency 200 KHz transponder Fishfinder will be suitable.
Why do I need a GPS Fishfinder ?
Answer = There are several benefits to having a GPS Fishfinder. You always know where you are on the open water, you know how fast you are travelling, and you are able to find your way back to that last great fishing spot !
